Pre-School

Pre-school dance classes are fun for both boys and girls of all abilities aged 3-5. Children benefit from the structure of a class, social interaction, and the imaginative and physical activity.

"Thank you for all your hard work at the Saturday classes. Lucy has absolutely loved her ballet this year and I have noticed how it has made a big difference to her physical development and coordination... her ballet classes combined with endless practise at home (we are always playing at ballet!) have been a great boost."  A proud mum

Movement, music, imagination...

We follow curriculum guidelines from the Royal Academy of Dance for our Pre-School ballet classes. The first section of the class involves a series of progressively challenging exercises to develop coordination, body awareness, gross motor skills, fine motor skills and listening skills.

The second section of each class follows a story or theme, such as 'The Zoo', 'The Magic Castle' and 'Under the Sea'. Listening skills, spatial awareness, movement, imagination and confidence are developed, and props such as ribbons, balls, musical instruments and scarves used to complement and encourage movement and musical response. Ballet basics, appropriate to their level of development, are introduced during each term. The children often work with partners or in small groups to encourage cooperation and develop social skills.
