Amanda-Louise Clark RAD RTS, AISTD
Amanda is one of our Directors and teaches in all our branches.
Amanda gained her teaching certificate with Distinction from the Royal Academy of Dance following her training with Central Scotland Ballet School. She is also qualified with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance in Tap and Modern Theatre. During her training, she danced with Youth Ballet of Scotland, Ballet West, European Ballet and EuroDisney. She has also appeared as a dancer, and principal, in many musical theatre productions across Scotland.
Amanda worked as a tutor on the innovative “Special Needs Dance Project” in Clackmannanshire which was the first major project of its kind in Scotland and was featured on the BBC’s “Children in Need”. She also developed a resource pack for schools and professionals for dance in the Pre-School curriculum. Amanda is trained to deliver SQA Higher Dance and teaches at Denny Dance Academy for Denny High School. She also designed our new uniform range and marketing materials and also works as our Media Officer, developing our award-winning website and on-line presence.
Theatre work...
Amanda is in demand as a director and choreographer with amateur theatre companies, children’s theatres and dance schools across the Central Belt. She has choreographed Scottish and sea themed dance pieces for MSC Cruises. Directorial credits include: Pirates of Penzance, Me and My Girl, Return to the Forbidden Planet, My Fair Lady, Hello Dolly. She has most recently been appointed as a choreographer for 'Billy Elliot' as part of the Billy Youth Theatre project and Director/choreographer for "Forty-Second Street".
Committee member and supervisor...
Amanda is a Practical Teaching Supervisor for the Royal Academy of Dance, supporting and assessing student teachers during their training. She has recently been appointed onto the RAD Regional Advisory Committee for Scotland and the Executive Committee of Falkirk District Arts and Civic Council.
