Claire McAlister B.Ed. (Hons)

Claire trains our Starshine Elite dance teams.

Claire McAlister (nee Smith) trained with Central Scotland Ballet School from the age of 3. She was awarded Distinction for her Grade 8 and advanced ballet exams from the Royal Academy of Dance. She was a Scottish Ballet and Ballet West Associate and performed with Ballet West and European Ballet.  She also won 4 consecutive scholarships from the Royal Academy of Dance and danced in musical theatre productions across Scotland.

Claire was the first student to win our Millennium trophy.

She is now a PE teacher and Head of Dance in a local High School.  She is a former qualified cheer coach and the founder of our award winning Starshine Cheer team. Under her direction, the team won many national titles. Claire now coaches the Starshine dance teams who have had great success at local, national and international level, including European Championships and World Cup level.
