Claire Smith B.Ed. (Hons)

Claire is a qualified cheerleading coach and trains STARSHINE.

NOTE: Due to illness, Claire will be on long-term sick leave from August 2010

Claire trained with Central Scotland Ballet School from the age of 3. She was awarded Distinction for her Grade 8 and advanced ballet exams from the Royal Academy of Dance. She was a Scottish Ballet and Ballet West Associate and performed with Ballet West and European Ballet.  She also won 4 consecutive scholarships from the Royal Academy of Dance and danced in musical theatre productions across Scotland.

Claire was the first student to win our Millennium trophy.

She is a PE teacher in a local High School, and is a fully qualified cheer teacher. She has won many national titles in cheerleading and trains STARSHINE cheerleaders.

Claire also teaches ballet for Scotland’s newest fulltime dance school, Dance Academy at Denny High and is a supply teacher for our ballet and jazz classes.

At every age and level, our dance pupils are encouraged to attend, spectate and participate in a variety of dance events to enhance their experience of dance.
