Higher Grades Ballet
The ‘Higher Grades’ of the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus allow the students to further develop their classical vocabulary and make full use of their technique.
Grades 6 has a much greater emphasis on dance quality and performance than in the middle grades. Exercises and dances are more challenging for all abilities.
Grade 7 is influenced by the Neo-Classical ballet "La Sylphide". It further develops the young dancer's sense of style, musicality and performance.
Grade 8 Award is the final grade and reward for years of study. Each dancer must prepare a number of solos to perform for the examiner. We hope that most students will be able to gain the Award before moving onto further study at University or full-time dance training.
So far, we are very proud that all our Grade 8 candidates have been awarded Distinction by the Royal Academy of Dance.
