Anya achieves top marks!

Majors student Anya has gained top marks for her ballet exams for the fourth consecutive year!

Anya (11) gained 89% for both her RAD Grade 3 ballet exam AND her Grade 3 Solo Performance Award in the Winter session. We award the 'Vicki Paterson Award for Excellence' annually to the Junior and Senior students gaining the highest marks in their exams; unfortunately this year, we mistakenly overlooked the Grade 3 results for the Junior Award and did not announce Anya as the rightful winner.

Apology from CSBS...

We must apologise sincerely to Anya for accidently not including the Grade 3 results before presenting the Award, and also to young dancer Ailey who received the Award for her excellent Grade 2 result of 84%.

We felt it would be just as unfair to take the Award from Ailey as it would be to not acknowledge Anya's achievement. However, rather than re-present it jointly after the mistake came to light, Ailey has asked that the Award be passed to Anya, a very sporting and generous gesture. Coincidently, both girls won the award jointly in 2014!

Anya's dance success

Anya also studies jazz and tap and is a member of our competitive cheer and dance team, Starshine, and our Majors programme. She also trains with Scottish Ballet Junior Associates, the Royal Conservatoire Junior Associates and Ballet West Associates having successfully auditioned for the coveted places. This will be the fourth consecutive year that she has achieved the highest junior exam marks in our school!

Well done Anya!
