CSBS tapping into the record books...

We were VERY excited to take part in the 2015 world record Tapathon event raising money for BBC Children in Need.

The event was organised by the Performers Project and involved thousands of dancers of all ages from across the UK. Participants had to learn a set routine ready to perform at exactly the same time on Sunday 15 November in venues across the whole of the UK. The current record for the most people tap dancing in multiple venues stands at 7596. We hope that our 222 tap dancers of all ages and abilities have helped to break that record!

We have to wait some weeks before we hear the news as all the groups must return video, photographic and written evidence of their participation to be verified by Guiness World Records. Keep those fingers and toes crossed!

Charity fundraising

To take part, dancers had to give a donation which covered the cost of a souvenir t-shirt, certificate of participation and donation to BBC Children in Need. Some of our dancers also gave additional donations for the charity.

Photos and video

Many thanks to Cameron for taking our video for verification , and for dancing in his tap shoes too! Amanda also took photos and video as well as organising the event while our other staff helped manage the registration and presentation of certificates. Sammy and Olivia were in charge of making sure everyone was performing the routine correctly!
