Mega Dance-athon
Senior students completed a gruelling mega dance-athon to raise funds for new costumes.
They began dancing at 8pm on Saturday 7 March at Maddiston Community Centre and danced through the night until 9am on Sunday! As well as lots of dancing there was lots of tea, coffee, hot chocolate, sweets, toast, sleeping bags and general nonsense!
Trip to Port Aventura
Some of the money raised will be going toward the Easter trip to dance in Port Aventura in Spain. Twenty young dancers will be performing a hip-hop dance routine in the Imperial Theatre in the Park. We hope that we can pay for the coach travel through their own fundraising efforts. They all completed the dance-athon and have also held a number of cake-and-candy events.
Parents and students can view photos from the event at www.leask.org
Thanks to...
Maddiston Community Centre and Falkirk Council for letting use the hall all night
Samantha Clark for leading the dancing all through the night
Lucy Creanor (Alice's mum) for staying awake all night to help supervise
Amanda Clark for supervising, donating lots of food and drinks, making tea and toast and washing up!
