Showstoppers - Linlithgow branch display

Our Linlithgow branch staged their own unique performance of "Showstoppers" as part of our 2018 dance display run!

This is the first time the Linlithgow branch has staged it's own show, and we were delighted that they had a sold out auditorium with a fantastic and enthusiastic audience! Two-hundred dancers aged from 3 to adults showcased their skills in 30 different routines at the Macrobert Arts Centre in over 300 costumes. The dancers were joined in their performance by 40 of our Majors students who recreated the opening scene of '42nd Street' as the opening to our own show. They also showcased a pointe work routine, and a short ballet adaptation of "Annie".

The audience were also treated to two special performances; soloist Olivia Hunter (13) performed "Kitri Variation" with which she had won the Grand Prix at the Terpsichore of the North Russian Ballet competition earlier this year. A group of 8 friends also performed a Grease inspired routine which they had choreographed themselves for our annual choreography competition. We were so impressed by the routine that we invited them to show it off to a larger audience! Another highlight of the show was "Hot Honey Rag" by the Adult Tappers who received a huge cheer for their routine!

We had an amazing team of CSBS staff, class helpers, and volunteer chaperones backstage helping the children get ready and get onstage quickly while their parents enjoyed the show. Thank you to all of them for an amazing job!

We would be delighted to get your feedback on the the display and love to hear what you enjoyed or any suggestions for improving our shows. Please take a few minutes to complete our short survey.

Charity collections

We support a wide range of good causes throughout the year, and our charity bucket collections after the Linlithgow branch performance raised an impressive total of £238.06, and we will add the programme donations to the total when we receive them from the theatre. Many thanks for your generosity!
