Students accepted into Ballet West
Two of our Senior students have gained places to train full-time at Ballet West.
Jessica Boertien and Hazel Kirkwood will be leaving us this term (June 2009) to further their dance training at Ballet West in Taynuilt.
Jessica is in Grade 6 ballet and is also in our Majors programme studying the Intermediate vocational grade of the Royal Academy of Dance. She is a member of the Ballet West Aspiring Professionals scheme and also studies jazz and tap with CSBS. Jessica has recently competed in EuroDisney at the European Festival of Dance and has performed in the Imperial Theatre in Port Aventura, Spain.
Hazel is awaiting the results of her Grade 8 Award in ballet and is also studying the Intermediate and Advanced syllabus of the Royal Academy of Dance. She has been studying ballet, jazz and tap with us since the age of 3 and, alongside Jessica, perfomed in Spain earlier this year.
Both girls will be part of the Cards trio in our production of "Alice in Wonderland" in our 2009 dance displays.
Well done girls, you will be greatly missed!
