Students star in Billy Elliot
The popular stage musical, Billy Elliot, has been released for performance by Youth groups as part of a special project called Billy Youth Theatre. Local groups have been accepted to stage the production, with CSBS students taking lead roles.
Scottish premiere...
LAMP Children's Theatre will stage the Scottish amateur premiere in April at Linlithgow Academy, with choreography by CSBS teacher, Amanda-Louise Clark. Good luck to:
- Hayley Fleming as Mrs Wilkinson (the dance teacher)
- Andrew Coleman as Older Billy / Solo dancer
- Christina McCall as Solo dancer / Royal Ballet panellist
- Chloe Dickson as Royal Ballet panellist / Miner / Police
- Eva Dickson, Amber Ibrahim, Anna McEwan, Rebecca McFarlane, Anna McLeod, Claudia Smith, Emma Thomson as Ballet Girls
- Alex Soto as Miner/Police
Boys dance too...
The story revolves around Billy dancing, surrounded by people who believe dancing is for girls. In the South Queensferry High School production, Ben Cooke will be playing Billy. Ben has been tap dancing for 3 years with CSBS, one of only 12 boys in our dance school! Also taking a lead role is Rowan Hall as Mrs Wilkinson and Sarah McNeill as her daughter, Debbie. Many other students from our Queensferry branch are involved in the High School production.
Information about tickets will be posted soon so that you can support our students in this amazing opportunity of a lifetime.
