Our South Queensferry Jazz dance classes are an enjoyable and popular way for young dancers to keep fit and learn the commercial style of dance you would see on pop videos, in musical theatre and on television.

Every class begins with a warm-up appropriate to the children’s ability which develops rhythm, coordination and body awareness as well as introducing basic dance steps. It is followed by a section of stretching exercises to improve general flexibility and posture.

Time is spent learning and improving dance steps and new moves, including elements from the I.S.T.D. Modern and Jazz syllabus as well as popular new styles such as street dance and hip-hop. Learn more about Jazz dance classes...

Each South Queensferry jazz class prepares a routine for our annual dance display, which may be any commercial style from rock’n’roll to hip-hop or musical theatre to pop. Students are also encouraged to audition for local and Edinburgh based theatre productions, both amateur and professional, to give them greater performance experience.
