Boys dance too...!

The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) ran a two-day Easter dance course in Edinburgh... just for boys!
"Boys Only!" was partially funded by a Billy Elliot Gala and invited boys of all ages and abilities to come together with some of Scotland's top male teachers.
We are very proud of the 5 boys from our school who joined 46 other boys in a weekend of ballet, contemporary, capoeira and street dance.
Shaun, Andrew, Elliot, Adam and Andrew are pictured above with Creative dance tutor Andy Howitt (Ydance) and also learnt ballet with Jonathan Barton (Ballet West).
Billy Elliot...
Andrew Coleman (15) spent the whole week performing in the Scottish amateur premiere of "Billy Elliot" with LAMP Children's Theatre. The show tells the story of a young boy struggling against the odds to be accepted as a ballet dancer. In the production, Andrew danced the role of Older Billy as well as a contemporary ballet duet with CSBS dancer Christina McCall. Andrew was also featured in the Scotsman (pictured right) and Edinburgh News prior to the dance event.
Well done boys!
More pictures of the boys are available on our Facebook gallery.
