Follow Your Dreams prize for Iana

CSBS dancer Iana had incredible success at the Follow Your Dreams competition in Aberdeen...

Follow Your Dreams is a successful and prestigious Australian competition which also runs a UK nationwide tour. Iana Phillips (13) was the only member of our Starshine Elite dance team to compete at the event and she was awarded an incredible array of prizes for her solo performances. She performed 3 routines; ballet, lyrical, and acrobatics; and placed FIRST for every routine! In addition to that, she won the following awards:

  • Most inspirational dancer of the day
  • Highest mark for ballet (93)
  • Champion Dancer (winning money, tiara and sash)
  • and Qualified for National finals

Iana has been having a very successful competition season both as part of the Starshine Elite Junior team, and as a soloist. At the beginning of the year she won the Grand Prix at the Terpsichore of the North Russian International Ballet Competition and first for her jazz solo at Scotcheer Steve Walls Classic. She most recently came first in the Under 14 category at a World Lyrical Dance Federation competition.

As well as being a member of Starshine and our Majors programme, Iana is an associate with Scottish Ballet and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and attends the specialist dance course at Larbert High School.

Well done Iana!
