Little dancers dazzle in "Pure Imagination"

One hundred and forty little dancers aged 3-7 performed in "Pure Imagination" as part of the Tryst Festival...

The performance at Falkirk Town Hall showcased their skills in ballet, tap, jazz, acrobatics and cheer routines and was inspired by the magic and wonder of childhood imagination. The Tryst festival is a week long celebration of the Arts in Falkirk with a wide range of activities and perfromances by local groups.

Joining the little dancers in the display were our Majors ballet students who performed a short ballet adaptation of the classic tale, "Peter Pan" as well as a fun jazz dance routine inspired by Shrek! We also had our 2019 Millennium Trophy winner Iana Phillips (13) perform an acrobatics solo she had choreographed herself, and junior dancer Rachel Dagger (10) performed a medal winning acrobatics routine which was also her own choreography. Some of our class helpers performed little cameo roles alongside the junior dancers too including explorers, super heroes and puppeteers!

You can view a few photos taken from the wings on our CSBS Facebook page:

This is the first of our 2019 dance displays and we have another 8 shows to go throughout June. The little dancers thoroughly enjoyed their time onstage and that was reflected in their brilliant performance and the cheers from the audience!

Thank you to everyone involved...

We have huge thanks firstly to the class teachers for their hard work over the past 6 weeks in preparing the children for their display, especially in meeting the challenges of the many school holidays over the past 2 months! They have been assisted by our wonderful class helpers who volunteer their time to help with the junior classes and were backstage to help their little friends with their costumes and routines.

The technical team at FTH were outstanding and provided a stunning backdrop of lighting for our dancers. Backstage, a team of chaperones (parents of the Majors students) assisted by class helpers, CSBS teachers, and Senior students, all worked hard to ensure the children managed all their costume changes and stayed happy during their time in the busy dressing rooms. They did an outstanding job.

Many thanks to everyone who made a donation for a programme, or put a donation in the collection buckets after the show. You helped raise and impressive £388 for charity. We will be making donations throughout the year in support of local and national good causes.

Professional photos and video

Once again Leask Photography took photographs during the dress rehearsal. These beautiful images will be available to view on the Leask Photography website using the password provided at the display.

We were delighted to have the amazing 1StudioVideo Productions filming for a professional DVD of the show. You can purchase a copy of the DVD from our shop and it should be ready at the beginning of July.

In the meantime, you can watch a few glimpses from the wings on our YouTube channel...

Finally, thank you all for your support over the display... We hope you and your little dancers thoroughly enjoyed it!
