Students to pursue dance careers

Students to pursue dance careers

We are delighted that some of our students will be moving to full-time training in Scotland...

Many congratulations to our dancers who have chosen to follow a career in dance and theatre and will begin their full-time training at colleges in Scotland.

Lisa moves to MGA

Senior dancer Lisa Muir (17) will be training in Musical Theatre at the MGA Academy of Performing Arts in Edinburgh. The college has quickly established itself as a centre of excellence for musical theatre training in the UK and we currently have 2 former CSBS students already studying there. Lisa is a popular student and class assistant reaching Grade 6 ballet, and Senior jazz and tap levels. As well as dancing with CSBS, Lisa is an accomplished performer and prizewinning singer and has performed in a wide range of productions with Grangemouth High School, Project Theatre, and Innov8 Dance. We are sure to see her name in lights soon!

Isabelle to train in ballet

Senior dancer Isabelle (16) has only been with CSBS for 2 years to further her ballet training. In that time she has reached Grade 8 and Advanced levels and has complemented her training by successfully auditioning for the Edinburgh Festival Ballet Associates scheme. She will begin her full-time ballet training at Edinburgh Festival Ballet later this year and we look forward to seeing her career develop.

Iona steps into Dance School of Scotland

Junior dancer Iona Macleod (11) has gained a place at the Dance School of Scotland and will begin her training after the summer break. Iona has only been with CSBS for 2 years to focus on her RAD ballet, and has continued her study with other dance schools in that time too including representing Scotland at the Dance World Cup. She has also been an associate with Scottish Ballet, the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and the Royal Ballet School; an ambassador for global dance brand Grishko; and performed with Scottish Ballet in their tour of "Cinderella". We are sure she has a bright dance future ahead!

We wish all the girls all the best for their continued training!
