Awards for Exam Excellence 2015
Two students were presented with Awards for Excellence for their outstanding dance exam results...
The 'Vicki Paterson Awards for Excellence' are annual awards presented to students who have gained the highest marks in their dance exams over the year. The award is named after former student Vicki Paterson who gained a perfect 100% for her RAD Grade 4 ballet exam as well as consistently scoring over 90% in all her dance examinations.
Junior Shield
The Junior Award for Excellence was presented to Ailey Meikle*. Ailey (11) gained 84% for her RAD Grade 2 ballet exam in November. She also received the Award jointly in 2014! Ailey studies ballet, tap, jazz, acrobatics and cheerleading and has also gained Distinction for her Primary and Grade 1 exams in both ballet and tap. She is also a member of our competitive dance team, Starshine Elite.
*AMENDMENT (23 Dec. 2015): The result has been amended as we mistakenly overlooked the Grade 3 results. The Award will be re presented to Anya Phillips. Read more and our apology here.
Senior Shield
The Senior Award for Excellence was presented to Zoe Young. Zoe (12) gained a staggering 97% for her Grade 4 Solo Performance Award in the November session as well as 90% for her Grade 4 exam in the same session. Zoe studies ballet, jazz, tap, acrobatics and cheerleading and is a member of our competitive acro team and Starshine Elite. She has also gained Distinction for all her ballet exams so far and has performed across Scotland, including in the Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony 2014.
