Forging a career in dance…

We are delighted to have two CSBS dancers furthering their dance career and entering full-time training at Dance For All college in Edinburgh. Advanced dancer Hannah Firth and senior dancer Eva Inglis start their course in September and will train in RAD ballet, ISTD modern and tap grades including teaching qualifications, as well as a range of commercial styles.

Dancer Eva

Eva was a member of our Majors Ballet programme alongside graded ballet, jazz and tap classes. She performed in a range of local shows with CSBS including the Festival of Remembrance and with the Russian State Ballet.

Eva was a very popular member of all her classes and we are sure she will enjoy her new dance training.

Dancer Hannah

Hannah danced with CSBS for around 13 years and was a successful member of both our Majors Ballet programme and Starshine Elite dance teams. She gained excellent results in all her dance exams, including Distinction for Advanced Ballet, Grade 7 ballet, and Grade 6 tap. She was also a prize and title winning member of the Elite team, most recently winning Scottish Champion and World Champion titles with the World Lyrical Dance Federation. She represented our team at competitions and events across Scotland and the UK with great success.

Hannah also danced at school as part of the PE programme and this year was presented with awards for Outstanding Performance in Higher PE, the Higher Dance Award AND the Senior Sports Personality Of The Year! In December 2022 she was presented with the CSBS overall trophy for progress in our Linlithgow branch.

Hannah was a regular medal-winner at our annual Choreography Competition, and was awarded the Millennium Trophy 2023 for best overall. She performed her own choreography in our annual dance displays and this year danced the title role in our classical ballet production of “Alice in Wonderland”. Hannah has also performed with the Russian State Ballet, and in a wide range of local productions. She will be following in her sister’s footsteps as she begins her training at DFA and we wish her every success!
