Queensferry dancers shine

Almost 250 dancers from our Queensferry branch took to the Macrobert Arts Centre stage for their annual dance display, “That’s Showbiz”. They showcased a huge range of routines including ballet, jazz, tap, acrobatics and musical theatre for an audience of family and friends.

JUNIOR BRANCH DISPLAY

The students were split across two performances with 115 Junior dancers aged 3-8 performing in a matinée show with additional guest performances by our Majors students and Elite dance teams. The audiences loved seeing our youngest dancers take to the stage, and we have huge thanks to the class assistants who helped them both onstage and backstage.

There were also solo performances including a lyrical solo by Heidi (who scored the highest jazz solo mark in our annual Choreography Competition), and an acrobatics solo by our 2023 Millennium Trophy Winner, Hannah Firth.

CSBS dance teacher Amanda took photos during both the rehearsal and then from the wings during the performance. You can view them on our CSBS Facebook page:

MAIN BRANCH DISPLAY

Just over 120 mids and senior students aged 9-17 performed in the evening show. The dancers train in our Queensferry branch on Saturdays and they had spent 8 weeks preparing for the display with a great selection of routines to a soundtrack from the stage and screen.

The audience also enjoyed a lyrical duet by dancers Georgia and Rachel who have qualified for the WLDF World Championships in August; an acro solo by Millennium trophy winner Hannah, who also won the Scottish Championships the week before the show; and a guest ballet performance by former student Anna Bremner.

As above, you can view Amanda’s photos on our CSBS Facebook page:

Huge congratulations to our Queensferry branch dancers for excellent performances! We must thank the staff at the Rosebery Halls and Queensferry High School for their support throughout the year, and to everyone who helped us stage these shows for their help in classes, rehearsals and backstage.
