Showtime for Linlithgow dancers!

Almost 200 dancers from our Linlithgow branch dance classes took to the Macrobert Arts Centre stage as part of our 2023 annual dance displays, “That’s Showbiz”. They showcased a huge range of routines with ballet, jazz, tap, acrobatics, cheer, lyrical, commercial and musical theatre for sold-out audiences of family and friends.

JUNIOR BRANCH DISPLAY

The students were split across two different performances with 55 Junior dancers from our Linlithgow studio joining another 100 little dancers aged 3-8 from our Braes branch in a matinée show with additional guest performances by our Majors students and Junior Elite dance team. All the little ones did extremely well with a really smooth dress rehearsal followed by a brilliant performance. Huge thanks to the class assistants who helped them both in class, onstage and backstage.

CSBS dance teacher Amanda took photos during both the rehearsal and then from the wings during the performance. You can view them on our CSBS Facebook page:

MAIN BRANCH DISPLAY

Another 140 mids and senior level students aged 9-17 performed in the evening show. The dancers train in our Linlithgow Bridge studios and had spent 8 weeks preparing for the display with a really varied selection of routines to a soundtrack from the stage and screen. Our CSBS Starshine Elite dance teams also showcased their prize-winning lyrical routines.

One highlight of the show was a fun routine by 13 members of our adult tap classes - a huge well done to them for taking part and entertaining the audience with their comedy number, “Thank God I’m Old”!

The audience also enjoyed an acrobatics solo by Millennium trophy winner Hannah Firth, who also won the Scottish Championships the week before the show; a pointe solo by Advanced dancer Jill (highest points for ballet in CSBS Choreography Competition); and a guest ballet performance by former student Anna Bremner.

As above, you can view Amanda’s photos on our CSBS Facebook page:

Huge congratulations to all our Linlithgow branch dancers for excellent performances! We must thank everyone who helped us stage these shows for their help in classes, rehearsals and backstage, and thank our Linlithgow show audiences for raising £663 for charity through programme donations and bucket collections!
