Advanced exam success
Senior student, Alice Creanor (15) has achieved outstanding success in her Advanced Foundation ballet exam with the Royal Academy of Dance, by gaining Distinction (81%).
She spent a week training intensively at the Royal Academy of Dance headquarters in London before sitting the demanding exam. She also spent her summer break training with Ballet West and Central School of Ballet, and begins an associate scheme with English National Contemporary Ballet this weekend.
Alice is one of our Majors students and is a regular soloist in our dance displays. Roles have included: "Dawn" in 'The Nutcracker', "Tiger Lily" in 'Peter Pan', and "White Rabbit" in 'Alice in Wonderland'.
The Advanced level is an immense achievement for part-time students. We are very pleased that Alice is our sixth student to gain the exam with Distinction, following in the footsteps of Laura Stirrat (84%), Vicki Paterson (89%), Claire Smith (87%), Rebecca Mason (82%) and Carlie-Anne Chuchla (73%). Laura is now a qualified Doctor, Vicki is a professional ballet dancer with the Royal Ballet of Estonia, Claire is a P.E. and cheerleading teacher, Rebecca gained a scholarship to study at English National Ballet School, and Carlie-Anne is beginning her teacher training with the Royal Academy of Dance.
Well done Alice - we are all very proud!
