Awards for Excellence

The Vicki Paterson Awards for Excellence were presented at the end of the year to our top scoring exam candidates.

The Award was first presented last year and is named after former student, Vicki Paterson, who gained a perfect 100% in her Grade 4 ballet examination as well as consistently scoring over 90% in other grades. The awards are presented annually to the students who gain the highest mark in a dance exam across the year.

Junior Shield - Primary to Grade 3

The Junior Shield was presented to Grade 2 student, Anya Phillips (pictured right). This is the second consecutive year she has received the prize having gained an impressive 93% for her Primary exam in 2012 and then 90% for her Grade 1 ballet exam in 2013. Anya currently studies Grade 2 ballet as well as Grade 2 tap, jazz and cheerleading. She is also a Scottish Ballet Junior Associate and a member of Falkirk Children's Youth Theatre.

Senior Shield - Grade 4 and above

The Senior Shield was presented to Grade 6 student Sarah MacNeill who recently gained 87% in her exam. Sarah is one of our Majors students and studies both Grade 6 and Intermediate ballet. She is also one of our class helpers and assists with one of the Pre-Primary grade ballet classes in South Queensferry.
