Ballet students shine onstage...

A number of our young ballet students have been stepping into the spotlight as they perform with ballet companies.

Scottish Ballet's 'The Nutcracker'

Anya Phillips (11) joined the touring cast of Scottish Ballet's "The Nutcracker" and performed from December to February in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Newcastle! She had successfully auditioned for the role earlier in the year and spent months attending rehearsals. Anya is also a member of both the Scottish Ballet Junior Associate programme and the Ballet West Aspiring Professional programme.

Tour with Ballet West

Ballet West is a ballet company that mixes professional dancers with students from their full time school about to begin their careers. This year, students from their outreach programme 'Aspiring Professionals' had the amazing opportunity of being involved in their Scottish tour of "Romeo and Juliet". Students rehearsed the corps de ballet numbers as part of their associate classes and performed in the Scottish tour including Macrobert Arts Centre, Beacon Arts Centre, Brunton Theatre and SECC Clyde Auditorium.

Many congratulations to the CSBS majors students in the production:

  • Caitlin Carmichael, Riona Clifford,
  • Emma Gowans, Anya Phillips,

and also to Grangemouth branch students Rachel Stewart and Ellie McGivern.

Also starring in the production was former CSBS student Natasha Watson who is in her final year of training at Ballet West.

Many congratulations to you all for your hard work!
