Festival of Remembrance performance

Six senior students performed a unique dance piece as part of the 2013 Festival of Remembrance in Livingston.

We were delighted to be invited to take part in the Festival of Remembrance organised by the Livingston Branch of the Royal Bristish Legion Scotland for the second year. The evening included entertainment by local groups and a formal service to reflect on the sacrifices made by brave Service men and women.

Emotional performance

The six volunteers only had 4 hours of rehearsal with CSBS teacher Amanda to choreograph and rehearse a dance piece combining ballet and contemporary dance to a specially created sound track of song, speeches and news reports arranged by Amanda. Entitled simply "Remember", it was a quiet reflection on the contrats in war between harmony and conflict, hope and despair. We were delighted that both the dancers and the audience enjoyed the piece and found it very moving and emotional.

The dancers were:

  • Dayna Lipski, Anna McEwan, Emma McTeague,
  • Holly Morgan, Kiera Paterson, Nicola Thomson

You can view a few photos in our Facebook gallery... But be warned that the girls were left in charge of the camera backstage themselves!
