Fundraising for the STV Appeal 2012

We are delighted to support the STV Appeal 2012 by helping raise funds for Scottish children...

Sixty-four dancers and 5 staff took part in a Dance Marathon to raise money for the Appeal. They danced for between 3-12 hours alongside celebrities John Michie, Pamela Stephenson and even Billy Connolly! We managed to raise a total of £1236 from the event! Scotland's Favourite weatherman...

Also raising funds for the Appeal was weatherman Sean Batty who cycled from Glasgow to Edinburgh with Jock the Dog. He stopped at the Falkirk Wheel for a short break where we were inviited to present him with a cheque for £1096 and enjoyed a trip on the Wheel, lunch, and lots of photographs! The Big Live...

Continuing the excitement, the STV Appeal invited us to take part in "The Big Live", a live TV show to end the 2012 Appeal. Teachers Amanda and Paula joined Emma McTeague and Rebecca Latto, who had danced for 12 hours at the Dance Marathon, Nicola Thomson, who had danced for 6 hours, and Jessica Falconer, who had raised £126 all by herself, and lots of other fundraisers at STV studios in Glasgow.

We enjoyed watching Amy MacDonald, Manran, Phil Cunningham and Michelle McManus live as well as meeting Alex Salmond, who is a big fan of Scottish Ballet apparently, and other Scottish celebrities. We were also priviledged to meet some of the children and young people who had been featured in the real-life stories shown throughout the Appeal and to present our final cheque for £1236 on live television. View photos from our live TV experience in our Live TV show gallery!

The STV Appeal raised a staggering total of £1,913,080 which will go toward helping the 220,000 children in Scotland currently living in poverty.
