Supporting the STV Appeal

CSBS teacher Amanda and 5 of our young dancers presented a cheque during "The Big Live" as part of the STV Appeal.

The STV Appeal was set up in 2011 to help support the 1 in 5 children living in poverty in Scotland. In just three years the STV Appeal has managed to raise more than £5.6 million, making 198 big and small grants to projects across all 32 local authority areas in Scotland, providing much needed support to over 29,000 children. Find out more about the STV Appeal on their website.

The Big Live at STV Studios!

The live TV show on Thursday 9 October brought together fundraisers from across Scotland with children and families being supported by the charity as well as a host of celebrities. We were delighted to be invited to represent Central Scotland Ballet School and present a cheque for £951.16 on live TV! The money was raised through collections at both our dance displays and dance classes and we thank everyone who generously contributed to the total.

Amanda was joined by some of our 2014 soloists at the event. Olivia Boath, Riona Clifford, Serena McCall, Katy Russell and Zoe Young were very excited about their television appearance and were especially delighted to meet Nicolas MacDonald, Michelle McManus and First Minister Alex Salmond! They also met some of the inspiring children featured in the appeal programme. You can view a small gallery of photos from the evening on the CSBS Facebook page.

Supporting STV Appeal in 2015

We are delighted to announce that STV Appeal is our chosen charity for 2014-2015 and we are busy planning some exciting fundraising events for 2015 in collaboration with STV. With your support, we can help make a difference in the lives of children and their families across Scotland and in our local communities.
