DANCE DISPLAY COSTUMES

Please find below information about costumes for your child’s dance display, simply click on your branch and download / view their costume list.

The costume lists detail what items you need to supply yourself (basics such as socks and shoes), and what costume you will be hiring from CSBS. Brown envelopes for costume hire will be distributed in class time and must be returned to your class teacher before the dress rehearsal.

All hired costumes must be returned straight after the performance.

HAIR AND MAKE UP

For ALL routines, long hair should be secured in a tight, neat BALLET BUN using hairpins and a hairnet. Short hair should be styled off the face - you can ask your class teacher for advice.

Due to the strong lighting onstage, we ask that dancers wear makeup as part of their costuming. Makeup should be age appropriate and glitter is not allowed. Guidelines are provided below:

  • JUNIOR (3-8): Light dusting of powder (to stop shine); a little pink blush; cream eyeshadow; pink lips

  • MIDS (9-12): Foundation; pink blush; pink-brown lips (natural but darker shade); cream and brown eyeshadow; brown eyeliner; brown mascara (optional)

  • SENIOR (13-18): Foundation (with/without contour); pink blush; red-brown lips; cream and brown eye-shadow; black eyeliner; black lashes.

Male students may wear foundation with neutral blush on cheeks and eyes, and matte lipstick. Gender neutral students may choose their preferred makeup style from the guidelines above.
