Broadway Breakthrough success!

Five of our CSBS Elite Team dancers performed in the finals of the Broadway Breakthrough competition at the Usher Hall in Edinburgh. The UK-wide competition showcases theatre styles such as jazz dance, singing, and musical theatre, as well as networking with industry professionals and colleges. Our dancers LOVED the experience!

It was wonderful to see such a huge range of dance and choreography throughout the day by dancers from across the UK, and quite a different experience to our usual competitions.

Huge congratulations to Amy, Charlie, Harry, Lucy and Niamh who took part and performed solos onstage. They gave strong performances with some top placings too.

ADDITIONAL AWARDS

At the end of the day, there was an open improvisation section, “Breakthrough Challenge”, calling all dancers to improvise to tracks from different styles of musicals. Amy, Charlie and Harry took part and danced brilliantly! Amy made it through to the second round, Harry made it into the final 10 dancers, while both Amy and Charlie made it into the top 5!

Charlie was awarded a Judges Choice Award AND a scholarship for the prestigious Laine Theatre Arts Summer School!
