Scottish Dance Award success!

Following our win of “Dance School of the Year” at last year’s Scottish Dance Awards, we were delighted to be announced as finalists in 3 different categories this year… with another win!

We were finalists for “Outstanding Preschool Dance Education”, “Excellence in Competitive Dance”, and “Exam Excellence” alongside a strong contingent of dance schools from across Scotland. CSBS Senior dancer Charlie was a finalist for “Rising Star student”, while CSBS coach Claire was a finalist for “Dance Teacher of the Year” for her outstanding work with Larbert High Dance Academy as well as her competition success with our CSBS dance teams. It was also wonderful to have 3 former students as finalists and winners in various categories with their own dance schools.

EXAM EXCELLENCE AWARD

We were excited to be announced as the winner of the Exam Excellence Award in recognition of our technical excellence reflected in top exam results. The panel were also impressed by our inclusive approach to examinations. CSBS Principal Mrs Clark accepted the award alongside teachers Amanda and Sammy, cheered on by the CSBS team!

We didn’t win the other two categories, but we are very proud to be finalists!

RISING STAR AWARD

What a delight to have CSBS dancer Charlie Fleming (14) announced as the winner of the Rising Star Student award!

Judges considered that he displayed remarkable skill and dedication with success in both competitions and exams in a range of styles. Huge congratulations Charlie!

DANCE TEACHER OF THE YEAR

CSBS teacher Claire McAlister coaches our Elite dance teams as well as teaching lyrical and commercial styles.

Her “day job” is running the Larbert High School Dance Academy, a centre of excellence which has extraordinary success in bringing dance to a broad spectrum of students with additional successes in exams, competitions, and performances.

Claire started with CSBS when she was just two-and-a-half, dancing up to advanced levels before going to University, then returning as a teacher… so understandably we gave her a HUGE cheer when she was announced as winner of Dance Teacher of the Year 2026! We are so very proud of her! Congratulations Claire on a very well deserved win!
