Continued dance exam success...

Our students are starting the New Year with the good news of their excellent exam results!

In November 2010, we had 99 young dancers enter ballet exams with the Royal Academy of Dance as well as 20 entering for their graded tap and modern exams with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance.

Top Marks...!

At every level, these exams are very demanding and we are delighted and proud that our young dancers performed really well. For the tap exams, 12 students passed with Merit and 5 gained Distinction while Jemma Sneddon (16) and Kristina Lowe (15) were awarded Merit and Distinction respectively for their first vocational Modern exam, Intermediate Foundation.

Sixteen little budding ballerinas gained their Pre-Primary Class Award while, of the 21 children sitting the Primary Grade exam, 18 were awarded a silver medal and 8 were awarded gold!

Over the rest of the graded ballet exams from grades 1-7, 42 students gained a Merit and 19 gained Distinction. Special congratulations to the Grade 6 and 7 candidates who all gained Distinction and to Anna Fulton (17) who gained her Grade 8 Award with Distinction.

Outstanding achievement

An extra well done to the students who were awarded over 85% for their performances:

  • Katie McEwan (Primary tap) 86% and Sarah Makin (Primary ballet) 85%
  • Serena McCall (Primary) 89% ballet / 85% tap
  • Natasha Watson (Grade 6 ballet) 93%
  • Jemma Sneddon (Grade 7 ballet) 85%

The next exam session is February... Keep up the hard work!
