Festival of Dance

Local dancers came together to present a glittering evening of dance in Falkirk Town Hall as part of the Tryst Festival.

This year marked the 60th anniversary of Falkirk District Arts and Civic Council (FDACC), and the dance event opened their celebrations.

World class performers...

Our Central Scotland Ballet School students performed 4 routines which they have previously performed across the world:

  • Freeze (Hip-hop routine staged in Portaventura, Spain)
  • Alice in Wonderland (Classical ballet)
  • Rock'n'Roll (Musical theatre staged onboard MSC Opera)
  • Symphony of the Seas (Theatrical Ballet staged onboard MSC Opera)

Each number was introduced by local celebrity compere, Brian Marjoribanks, and closed with massive applause and cheering from the audience! The evening ended with the sparkling Finale, "Diamond Variations", which brought together the young dancers from all the schools taking part in the event.

Supporting charity...

Our performance raised money and awareness for the children's charity PiggyBankKids which works closely with the Jennifer Brown Foundation. We donated some very special Limited Edition prizes from Sky1's "Got to Dance" for the raffle. We will be making our donation as sponsorship to our RAD organiser for Scotland, Jennifer MacFarlane. Jennifer is taking part in the Edinburgh Marathon in May in support of the charity... Please read her story or make a donation.
