Heather is a musical maestro

Diminutive student Heather Gourdie is making a big name for herself in the musical world...

Heather (17) is currently studying Grade 5 ballet as well as Senior 2 jazz and tap with CSBS but also excels in musical theatre and music.

Musical Theatre

In May, Heather successfully auditioned for Junior Musical Theatre School at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow. She already has significant stage experience, including performing many principal roles across Scotland; Annie (Annie!), Sarah (Our House) Carmen and Cosette (Megamix, Edinburgh Playhouse Stage Experience 2014), and most recently Meatloaf (We Will Rock You).

Outstanding musical talent...

Heather will be going into her third year at Royal Conservatoire of Scotland Junior Music School studying both piano and voice. She passed her grade 8 piano exam with Distinction in Dec. 2014, getting full marks for one of her pieces! Following that, she was awarded the Lindsay Lamb Bursary earlier this year for being the candidate who achieved the highest mark in grade 8 piano during 2014.

In February, she performed alongside Eric Marienthal (the saxophonist who 'plays' for Lisa Simpson in the Simpsons!!). While completing her sixth year at High School, she aims to also complete her Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music Diploma in Piano Performance (DipABRSM), sit Grade 8 Voice and, as part of her Expressive Arts Baccalaureate, organise and perform in her first professional recital at the Howden Park Centre on October 15th. Please support her in concert at the Howden Park Centre as she presents "From Bach to Big Band - An Evening with Heather Gourdie" on Thursday 15 October, 7.30pm

Heather would love to study at RCS as an undergraduate and will be auditioning for the BMus and BA (Musical Theatre) courses in November/February... We wish her every success in her career!
