Iana Phillips (14) will move into the residential accommodation to begin 3 years of full time training at Scotland's national training academy. The Dance School of Scotland is part of Knightswood Secondary School where Iana will have academic studies as well as around 4 hours of daily dance training. Two of ther siblings, Anya and Emmy, already train at the school!

Award winning dancer

Iana is a very popular member of our school and has already achieved great success in her dance training with Central Scotland Ballet School including outstanding exams results, competition success, and awards. This year alone she has won our "Millennium Trophy" at our 2019 Choreography Competiotn; the Grand Prix at the Terpsichore of the North International Ballet Comeptition; Grand Champion at 'Follow Your Dreams'; World Champion at the WLDF championships; silver medallist at the Scottish Youth Ballet Grand Prix. Iana has also represented CSBS at RAD Scotland Awards days (where she has won class and overall prizes), on STV Appeal live, and with Starshine Elite as a member of our competitive dance teams. She has represented Scotland as a ballet soloist at the Dance World Cup in 2017 and 2018.

Iana studies ballet and jazz with CSBS and is a member of both our Majors programme and Starshine Elite dance team. She has also been attending the Dance Academy at Larbert High School for 2 years where she studied dance as part of the daily curriculum. She complements her training with additional lessons as part of the Scottish Ballet Associate scheme, Ballet West Associates and the Royal Conservatoire associate scheme.

We wish her all the best for her career and look forward to following it as she grows as a dancer!
