Performing in the 'Big Bairns Burn Bash'
We were delighted to have 21 dancers perform in the inaugural 'Big Bairns Burns Bash' in Falkirk Town Hall.
Organised by Falkirk District Arts and Civic Council, the fundraising event celebrated the life and works of Robert Burns in a unique collaborative performance of dance, drama and music from local groups.
Our dancers performed 3 routines choreographed especially for the event by CSBS teacher Amanda:
- 'Til All the Seas Gang Dry - An acrobatic dance piece inspired by Mermaids and featuring guest artists from Wolanski's Pole and Aerial Fitness. Amanda also created the costumes, even finishing off the headpieces as the show began!
- The Campbell's are Coming - it was fun to see Amanda perform some traditional highland dancing before the girls hijacked the piece and it turned into an energetic jive number!
- My Love is But a Lassie Yet - Began with a children's rhyme and recreated children's street games through some stylised dancing. It was great fun to perform!
The dancers also received a souvenir t-shirt for the Finale designed by Amanda, with some extra ones being given to dancers from Innov8 and Stenhouse Dance who were also performing in the show.
We received great feedback from the audience, including CSBS Principal Mrs Clark who came along to support the girls, and look forward to seeing some video footage of the pieces! You can view some professional photos of the performance by Leask Photography on Facebook.
Well done to everyone involved and thank you for all your hard work and outstanding performances!
