Billy Elliot the Musical... In Queensferry!

South Queensferry High School staged "Billy Elliot the Musical" as part of the Billy Youth Theatre Project... and it starred many of the dance students from Central Scotland Ballet School!

The award winning musical was staged in the school with pupils taking the lead in direction, choreography, light, sound, publicity, costumes and more, as well as performing!

Principal roles

Taking the title role in the production was Ben Cooke. Ben has been tap dancing with CSBS for around 3 years, gaining his Grade 4 tap and performing in our annual dance displays. The challenging role of Mrs Wilkinson was played by Rowan Hall, who now studies at MGA Theatre School. The role of her daughter, Debbie, was played by Sarah MacNeill who is a student on our Majors ballet programme.

Police and ballet girls...

Joining the talented cast as the all-singing-all dancing Police were Amy Ferguson, Amy Grant and Ellika Moore.

Nine of the 11 enthusiastic ballet girls were CSBS students... Well done to Amy Derrick, Lindsay Duncan, Lauren Duncan, Rebecca Forrester, Caty Kerr, Rachel Main, Sarah MacNeill, Emma McTeague and Lucy Stewart on their fabulous dance performances! Much of the choreography had been done by former South Queensferry High pupil Suzanne Banks who left CSBS this year to study at University.

The show was excellent - well done to everyone involved!
