New CSBS Award for Excellence

We are delighted to announce a new trophy to be presented as part of our end-of-year awards.

We currently reward 100% attendance and significant progress and improvement by presenting badges, trophies and certificates at the end of December during our annual Parent's Days. These are things which students of all abilities have the potential to attain at some time during their dance training.

The new award will be to commend excellence with a shield presented annually to the student who gains the highest pass mark in a dance examination over the year. There will be both a Junior (Primary-Grade 3) and Senior (Grade 4-Vocational) award.

Vicki Paterson - a role model

The name of the new award is the "Vicki Paterson Award for Excellence". Vicki (pictured right) is a former student who was awarded a full-time training place at ballet school, successfully graduated from the Central School of Ballet and performed with the Estonia National Ballet. She gained outstanding results in all her dance exams, mostly over 90%, but most significantly, she gained a perfect 100% for her RAD Grade 4 ballet exam. That is definitely a mark to aspire to and to remember! Vicki was also an associate with Ballet West and Scottish Ballet, won many awards and has performed across Scotland, the UK and Europe.

Inspiration

We hope that this new award will encourage students to work hard for their exams and celebrate outstanding achievement. By telling them about Vicki we hope to inspire them to reach for the stars!
