Performing across Central Scotland

Many of our students have started their summer break by dancing in events across Central Scotland...

Armed Forces Day, West Lothian

A small group of girls performed "A New Tomorrow" as part of the West Lothain Armed Forces Day in Livingston. The dance piece had orgiginally been created for the Festival of Remembrance and explored themes of war, loss, hope and working together through dance, sign language and music. The girls also got to meet soldiers and veterans and were especially delighted to be paid with some Millie's cookies! You can view a gallery of photos on our Facebook page or watch the video on our YouTube channel.

Conference workshop with Julia McGhee

Three little dancers and two parents joined professional dance artist Julia McGhee of plan B performing arts company to showcase her interactive solo performance at the NRTF Conference at Macrobert Arts Centre. The performance is for children aged 4-6 and centres on a magic trunk containing a fascinating collection of sounds, music and objects. The children (and grown-ups!) had great fun and we were delighted to be able to see former CSBS student Julia in action. There are some photos on our Facebook page.

Be Inspired - Countdown to Glasgow 2014

'Be Inspired' was part of the Legacy 2014 Commonwealth Games events running across Scotland. We were invited to perform alongside other sports groups to encourage children and young people to take up an active lifestyle. Only a handful of children came along to perform but they did really well to showcase their dance display routines as solos and duets! You can see some photos of the dancers performing or watch a selection of the dances on our YouTube channel.

RNLI Queensferry Open Day

An annual event in our calendar is the RNLI Open Day in South Queensferry. It is a major fundraising event for the local Lifeboat and we are delighted to provide some entertainment. For the first year in a long time, it didn't rain! Many children of all ages came along to showcase their dance display routines in the sunshine and we really enjoyed the day. Cameron was on hand to take some photos which you can see in our Facebook gallery and dad James kindly videoed the dances... Watch the feel-good medley below:
