Reception with the First Minister

In recognition of our contribution to the STV Appeal over the past 2 years, CSBS teacher Amanda was invited to attend a reception hosted by the First Minister of Scotland...

The evening reception was held in the Great Hall of Stirling Castle where guests were greeted with drinks and canapés. The First Minister, the Right Hon. Alex Salmond MSP, welcomed guests and thanked them for supporting the STV Appeal as well as outlining the Scottish Government's involvement with the charity. Also speaking on behalf of the charity was the Director of STV and guests whose lives have been turned around by projects and initiatives funded by the appeal.

Helping Scottish children

The 2013 Appeal raised around £2.5million which will be distributed to children's charities in Scotland to help the estimated 1 in 5 children living in poverty. Thirty-two of our dancers and 3 staff took part in a Dance Marathon in support of the Appeal. Between them they raised £1030. We also had nearly 70 young dancers take part in the 2012 Dance Marathon raising £1236. We were also invited to take part in a range of press events and even the live TV show!

Well done and thank you to our students, their parents and our staff for their generous fundraising efforts.
