Sponsored ballet bounce!
We held a sponsored ballet bounce on Good Friday as a fun way to start the Easter break!
Dancers (and their parents!) were challenged to complete 100 ballet bounces such as sautés, entrechats, and even toe touches... on a bouncy castle! We were delighted that around 130 students (17% of our roll) completed the challenge as well as 6 parents too! It was great fun and all the dancers got the chance to play on the bouncy castle between all the challenges. We are looking forward to counting up their sponsor money to see how much they raised toward our Dance Fund. View a gallery of photos on our CSBS Facebook page.
Dance bucket and other events
We had our Dance Bucket at the event which gave people the opportunity to buy pre-worn dancewear and raise money at the same time. The Dance bucket raised £205 on the day.
We also had a Tombola with a huge range of prizes donated by our staff and students. The tombola stall was run by Senior students on the day and they raised another £136.
Throughout the day, parent volunteers ran a café; many thanks to Leah, Adele, Amanda and Leanne for working so hard! They served hot and cold drinks as well as a very tasty range of home baking which had been donated by students. The café raised an impressive £159 on the day with a further £35 raised the following day by raffling an Easter cake made by Grade 2 student Cara!
Mr Clark was also helping out and sold incredible balloon models throughout the day and adding £100 to our already impressive total.
Many thanks to everyone who helped out in some way. Our Dance Fund is used to help pay for or subsidise costumes, medals, certificates, trips and other events throughout the year.
