World record tapathon attempt!

We were VERY excited to take part in the world record Tapathon event raising money for BBC Children in Need.

The event was organised by the Performers Project and involved thousands of dancers of all ages from across the UK. Participants had to learn a set routine ready to perform at exactly the same time on Sunday 17 November in venues across the whole of the UK. The current record for the most people tap dancing in multiple venues stands at 7596, and we hope that our 131 dancers have helped to break that record!

We have to wait some weeks before we hear the news as all the groups must return video, photographic and written evidence of their participation. Keep those fingers and toes crossed!

Charity fundraising

To take part, dancers had to give a donation which covered the cost of a souvenir t-shirt, certificate of participation and donation to BBC Children in Need. Some of our dancers also gave additional donations for the charity.

Photos and video

Many thanks to Cameron for coming to take photos of the event (in his tap shoes!) and to Paula and Amanda for making sure it all got videoed in line with the rules and regulations. Sammy was in charge of making sure everyone was performing the routine correctly and Mrs Clark was also dancing then handing out sweets!
