Onesie Week fun...

To celebrate the end of the exam session we had a week of fun non-syllabus dance classes in our onesies!

Students were encouraged to come to class in pyjamas or onesies with a £1 donation to our Dance Fund. As well as enjoying a wide range of fun dance activities and games, the week included:

  • Contemporary dance workshop with Justine Lim
  • Jazz workshop with Beth Donnelly
  • Parents joining in Teeny and Junior jazz classes
  • Choreography and repertoire ballet sessions
  • Belly dancing, bollywood and jive
  • (oh... and eating sweets!)

Many thanks to the people who made a donation (disappointingly that was only about 50% of students), especially those students and parents who generously gave £1 for every class they attend or additional donations.

The money in our dance fund is used to subsidise our annual events such as the Sparkle Party, Parents Days / Prize Givings, Choreography Competition and Majors rehearsals all of which we currently stage free of charge. Some funds may be put toward buying specialist equipment such as the new Harlequin flooring for tapping (£400 a roll) and our new ballet barre (£400).

You can view a gallery of photos from the week on our Facebook page as well as a few informal videos from various classes on the event page. Lots of hilarity!
