Ballet Grand Prix winners
We were delighted that three of our dancers were selected by audition to compete in the finals of the 2026 Ballet Grand Prix in Dundee. Majors students Marcus Miller (15), Robert Paterson (15) and Georgia Rosenfeld (16) all auditioned in the Scottish heats masterclass in September and were each successful in gaining a finals place.
Marcus and Georgia worked with CSBS teacher Amanda to rehearse a classical repertoire variation and a contemporary dance solo, while Robert moved to dance with his school dance teacher at Denny Dance Academy. The standard at this level of competition is extremely high, so the coaching sessions were intense to perfect technique and performance in both styles.
COMPETITION DAY
On the day, Marcus performed a Satanella variation, and a contemporary dance piece choreographed by Amanda, in the Male category. Georgia competed in the Senior category with the Sugar Plum Fairy variation and a contemporary piece choreographed by Claire McAlister and adapted for the competition. They both performed in the grand finalé which was a spectacular “Défilé” performance choreographed and rehearsed on the day especially for the event and involving every competitor!
WINNERS
We were delighted to have all 3 dancers announced as winners in the awards ceremony!
Marcus - second place (Male category)
Georgia - Défilé Prize (Senior category)
Robert (with Denny High) - first place (Male category)
An outstanding achievement and we are extremely proud of all three dancers!
It was a “no photos allowed” event so we only have a couple of informal pics to share. You can see the small gallery on our CSBS Facebook page.
