Competition success for Starshine

Our competitive Starshine dance team have been winning trophies across the UK!

'That's Showbiz' Grand Finals

The Starshine Senior Elite team travelled to the finals of the national 'That's Showbiz' in Blackpool where they competed against top teams from across the UK. They were delighted to win 3rd place for the Mixed Classic section with their beautiful routine, "Listen" choreographed by coach Claire McAlister. You can watch a version of the routine below being performed in our 2015 dance display.

Scotcheer Steve Walls Classic

The Starshine Cheer team competed in the Scotcheer Steve Walls Classic in Dundee where the Youth and Senior cheer teams both placed 4th in Scotland!

The Starshine Elite dance teams also competed and were placed in every section. This was the first competition for our new Youth team and only the second competition for the new Junior team. All the teams had great success!

The Seniors won 3rd for jazz and hip-hop; the new Youth team won 3rd for jazz and 5th for hip-hop; the new Junior team were placed 2nd for hip-hop and first for jazz which means they qualify for the European championships and will be travelling to Vienna in July to compete alongside the top teams from across Europe! Also winning were Youth team dancers Anya and Cara who gained 2nd for jazz duets; Serena placed 1st for jazz solos; and Dayna and Laura won the hip-hop duets and also qualified for the European Championships in Vienna! The pair will also be representing Scotland at the Dance World Cup in Jersey in July alongside soloist Serena!
