CSBS dancers 'Achieve the Dream'

Our Majors and Elite dancers enjoyed training with Nadine Kennedy Wood as part of her "Achieve the Dream" UK tour!

Miss Nadine is the principal of Nadine's Dance Company based in Newcastle. She has developed a unique way of training her young dancers as both athletes and artists with inspiration and technqiues from world recognised professionals such as Rebecca Davies. Her own dancers have achieved remarkable success at both local, national and world Championships.

Train insane workshop

The workshops saw 40 young CSBS dancers aged from 10-18 train in Nadine's system with a demonstration team of her own 3 young dancers (pictured below). They completed a marathon aerobic warmup with conditioning exercises before stretching and working on jumps, leaps, kicks and pirouettes. Everyone was very sweaty by the end! It was great for the CSBS teachers to watch the lesson and see how much encouragement our dancers gave each other.

Private lessons prizes

Nadine had offered a private lesson with herself in Newcastle as a prize to the most promising performer. The dancers were whittled down through a dance off and she was so impressed by the overall standard that she selected SIX of our dancers to win the prize! Many congratulations to Dayna, Laura, Lucy, Serena, Sarah and Zoe.

We are looking forward to using some of the training techniques in our lessons and thank Miss Nadine for inspiring the students to work harder!
