Ferry Fair fun!

We were delighted to be part of the 2017 Ferry Fair Festival in South Queensferry!

The week long festival involves the whole community in a wide range of events and we were invited to perform as part of the entertainment on the Friday evening between the legendary races! Fifteen young dancers volunteered and together with CSBS dance teacher Amanda, they created a unique piece to showcase the dance styles taught at Central Scotland Ballet School. Many thanks to:

  • Preschool: Harry Fleming, Isla Wilson
  • P1-4: Isobel Buckley, Cameron Garmany, Charlie Fleming, Erin McDonaugh, Jessica Wilson
  • P5+: Abigail Buckley, Emma Garmany, Marilena Lalou
  • Youth: Abbie Garmany, Gracie Stevens
  • Senior: Hollie Crooks, Serena McCall

After their performance, they were all presented with a medal for their great effort and performance, and also received sweets frm the committee! You can view some fantastic photos from the performance on our CSBS Facebook page.

Ferry Fair parade

We joined the annual parade for the fourth year. This year, 36 dancers aged 3-15 joined us to march through the town waving pom-poms and having lots of fun! At the end of the day, it was announced that we were to be awarded the 'Kenny sinclair Memorial Award' by the Ferry Fair committee for our participation! The trophy was first awarded in 2014 in memory of Ferry Fair stalwart Kenny who had served over 17 years on the committee. He was a well respected and popular figure in the town who undertook lots of community and charity work locally, and we are honoured to receive the award on behalf of our South Queensferry dancers!

Please view a gallery of photos from the parade on our CSBS Facebook page.
