Festival of Remembrance performance
We were honoured to be invited to perform at the 2022 Falkirk Festival of Remembrance in FTH, organised by the Ancre Somme Association.
Some of our dancers volunteered to take part and performed two pieces as entertainment during the evening. The first was a lyrical number choreographed by Starshine Elite coach Claire McAlister, and the second was a piece created especially for the event by CSBS teacher Amanda to the music “White Cliffs of Dover”. The routine showcased ballet and tap styles and had the audience singing along too! We are delighted to have received great feedback from audience members.
Two of our Senior dancers, Georgia and Marilena also volunteered to dress as WW2 soldiers and introduce each act. They looked fabulous!
You can view a gallery of photos from the rehearsal and performance on our CSBS Facebook page, with thanks to Cameron from Leask Photography for the performance shots!
CEREMONY OF REMEMBRANCE
We were very proud to have the group of dancers represent us so well for the formal ceremony of remembrance. After a community sing-along, they demonstrated great respect during the ceremony and two-minute silence.
THANKS
Many thanks to Billy Buchanan and Bill MacDonald for including us in the event, the last to be held in FTH before it is demolished next year. They also, on behalf of the Ancre Somme Association, provided the dancers with a buffet dinner and a souvenir gift for taking part, for which we are all very grateful!
Thanks too to the technicians and front of house team at FTH who were helpful, friendly and professional as always.
Finally, a special shout out to Mr Clark for making the fantastic aeroplane prop for little dancer Harry!
