Winter dance exams

We had a small session of ballet, tap and jazz exams and awards this session but still with a total of 98 candidates!

RAD BALLET EXAMS

Forty-seven candidates sat a graded ballet exam with the Royal Academy of Dance from Primary to Grade 5 levels and also 3 students entering for a vocational graded exam. The exams were submitted by video and we expect to receive the results mid-January.

IDTA EXAMS AND AWARDS

We recently joined the IDTA and have been following their graded tap syllabus as well as trying out some of the medal test and award options available. Five young dancers sat their Grade 1 tap exam while another 46 entered for Stardance Awards in ballet, tap and jazz. The candidates thoroughly enjoyed the awards which are much shorter than the graded exams and with more emphasis on performance.

These exams were also submitted by video and we hope to receive these results by the end of January.

NEXT EXAM SESSION…

Our Spring exam session will be held in March with RAD ballet exams and graded IDTA exams as well as an opportunity for younger students to sit their Rosette awards. We also hope that the Spring person will be in-person with a live examiner rather than by video, however, that means we lose the flexibility in timetabling which we’ve been able to enjoy over the past 2 years.
