Project Dance 2025
Thirty dancers aged 11-18 joined our Project Dance Summer School in Bo’ness Town Hall for a 4 day intensive dance course. They had a challenging schedule of 6 lessons each day with guest tutors from across Scotland. Huge thanks to the tutors for both pushing and encouraging the students throughout the week!
Kelly McCole (Ballet; Repertoire)
Kristina Lowe (Warm-up; Jazz)
Lucy Hutton (Contemporary)
Sammy Clark (Repertoire)
Erin Jardine (Commercial)
You can view galleries of some brilliant photos from the lessons to give you an idea of the work involved each day. Please grab a cuppa and have a look through!
It was a wonderful week of learning AND having lots of fun too!.
PERFORMANCE AND PRESENTATION
On the fourth and final day, the two groups came together for a short ‘rehearsal’ where they were able to show their class work to the other dancers, before a short sharing of work for an audience of parents and family members. You can view the performance photos in the Day 4 performance photo gallery.
Each group showcased 3 exercises from their ballet class, a piece of classical repertoire, a short contemporary sequence, a commercial routine, and a short jazz routine. It is not a performance based course… but everyone performed brilliantly!
Finally, every dancer was presented with a certificate in recognition of their effort. The faculty had also selected dancers to receive “Star Performer Awards” and these were presented to:
GROUP 1 - Special Mention: Harry Fleming
GROUP 2 - Star Performers: Grace Archer and Rose Bertile
GROUP 2 - Special Mention: Eva Morgan, Charlie Fleming, Marcus Miller, Roan Ogilvie
GROUP 2 - Star Performers: Ava Green and Louise Cameron
Please view photos from the performance and presentation!
THANKS…
Many thanks again to the faculty! We also have thanks for the caretaker, Colin, for ensuring we were safe in the building and for helping us set up each day. Our fabulous Project Dance t-shirts were created by the team at Homefront Signs. And thanks to teachers Amanda and Sammy for running the course. Amanda was also responsible for designing the certificates and t-shirts, AND taking/processing all the hundreds of photos each day!
