ROSETTE AND STARDANCE AWARDS

Another 330 dancers entered for a range of awards with the IDTA by video assessment. Twenty-four dancers sat their Stardance Award in ballet to add a badge to their Stardance trophies, while a staggering 306 candidates aged 5-8 entered for their Rosette Awards in ballet, tap, jazz and acrobatics. It was our first time offering the Rosette Awards to all our Junior students, for some of them it was their first experience of an exam situation, and we were very proud of their performances! Everyone passed and will be presented with their awards and certificates soon!

BRITISH ASSOCIATION OF TEACHERS OF DANCING

We follow the BATD syllabus for our acrobatics classes and were delighted to welcome examiner Mrs Smith to assess over 100 candidates in-person from First Steps to British Award levels. She was very impressed by the overall standard of technique, and especially commended teacher Diane on her choreography at each level. Across the 110 candidates, 13 gained Commended (the second highest band) and 97 gained Highly Commended (the highest band). Very well done everyone!

All our medals, rosettes, trophies, certificates and reports should arrive over the next few weeks and will be presented in class time.

CSBS CLASS TESTS

As well as assessments with the exam boards, we had 8 dancers sit a Class Test for tap, assessed by a CSBS teacher, and 28 little dancers sit their Pre-Primary ballet class test assessed by a guest teacher. They all performed very well and received excellent reports from the examiners! They will receive their awards in class time.

Well done to all the candidates and especially to the class teachers who had worked incredibly hard to prepare and support the children through their examinations! You can view a full gallery of the candidates on our CSBS Facebook page.
