Sam Dennis dance workshop success

We were delighted to have celebrity dancer Sam Dennis bring her #iamSam tour to CSBS!

Sam was a part of the original cast on the reality TV series, 'Dance Mums' along with her mum Charlotte. She has established herself as one of the top young dancers in the UK and is known for her genuine personality and excellent performance skills. Sam is currently touring the UK to inspire young dancers and give them an insight into her dance world! Find out more on her iamSam website.

Senior Dance workshop

Twenty two dancers aged 11-17 attended our Senior workshop and enjoyed a challenging dance class led by choreogrpaher Alex Ryan and dancer Sam. They did a warmup, stretch, corner work, improvisation and choreography, receiving advice from Alex and Sam about their technique and advice about their performance and attitude from Dance Mum Charlotte ! As the session progressed, dancers were picked by the team to dance off for a prize. Many congratulations to the finalists Dayna, Laura, Sarah, Serena and Polly.

Polly Greer (16) was picked out for the 'Best Performer' prize while Dayna Lipski (17) received a prize for 'Most improved'. Serena McCall (12) was given a special mention for her outstanding technique and performance throughout the workshop. You can view photos from the Senior workshop on our CSBS Facebook page.

Junior Dance workshop

We then had another 27 little dancers aged 9-13 join the Junior workshop. Choreogrpaher Alex led a brilliant class which both challenged the students but gave them a sense of achievement too. Dancer Sam demonstrated beautifully and really inspired the young dancers to give their best in their performances.

At the end of the session, Dance Mum Charlotte announced Eve Dignan (10) as the winner of the 'Best Performer' prize, and Sam presented the most progress award to Lucy Anderson (10). Special mention was given to little dancer Iana Phillips (10) for her great performance throughout the workshop. You can view photos from the Junior workshop on our CSBS Facebok page.

Meet and Greet

After each workshop, the dancers had the chance to take part in a question and answer session with Sam and mum Charlotte. The team answered a wide range of questions and encouraged the students to work hard, stressed the importance of ballet technique as part of their training, and said they should all just dance as much as possible! Then, they had the chance to meet Sam and get a souvenir t-shirt signed. The dancers also got their photo taken with Sam and Charlotte too! You can view photos from the meet'n'greet sessions on our CSBS Facebook page.
