Summer dance fun
We had LOTS of fun dancing throughout the summer break in a wide range of workshops and activities!
CHEER CAMP
Our first summer event was Cheer Camp and it was BRILLIANT! Coaches Holly and Laura ran a taster session working on conditioning, dance, and stunts. It was great to see the progress made and the growth in confidence in just over an hour! We hope some of the dancers will join our cheer squads for the new season!
View some photos from the session to see what they worked on during the workshop.
SUMMER BOOGIE
Around 30 children aged 4-8 joined our brilliant “Explorer Adventure” Summer Boogie sessions. Teacher Amanda lead them through lessons in jazz and ballet to a soundtrack from Lion King, Moana, and tribal music. They also enjoyed exploring lots of rhythms and movement games/ideas in the creative dance class, before the popular arts and crafts session. You can view some photos from the sessions on our CSBS Facebook page:
Look out for our Easter and Summer Boogie sessions next year!
DANCE STARS WORKSHOPS
Dance Stars is our holiday workshop series for our mids level students. We only had one workshop (plus the 3-day summer school) this holiday… but it was a good one! The dancers worked with teacher Hayley in ballet and jazz lessons before learning some short choreography. They then costumed their routine and worked with teachers Hayley and Amanda to create a dance video! It was great fun and the video was super.
DANCE SKILLS BOOST
Teacher Sammy lead sessions for our mids-senior dancers to improve and develop technique. They worked on flexibility, turns and pirouettes, jazz jumps and leaps, and also acro skills / tricks. The final part of the day was choreography and the dancers enjoyed the challenge of lyrical routine with guest tutor Sarah Firth.
